HKCWA Social Media Policy

Regulates the standard of conduct expected when using social media to prevent defamation, leaks, harassment, or improper public statements.
Protects the official reputation, integrity, and public image of the Hong Kong, China Waterski Association Limited (HKCWA), its personnel, and representative teams.

Applies to all Executive Board members, committee members, employed staff, National Squad and Training Squad athletes, coaches, judges, team managers, and event officials.
Covers all posts, comments, media, or statements published on personal and official social media platforms relating to HKCWA business, training, competitions, or team affairs.

Defamation & Offensive Content: Strictly prohibits posting any commentary, images, or materials deemed to be defamatory, offensive, obscene, or discriminatory.
Derogatory Remarks & Bullying: Prohibits cyberbullying, harassment, or making derogatory and offensive comments targeting HKCWA, Board directors, committee members, staff, athletes, coaches, or judges.
Personal Liability: Individuals are held personally and legally liable for any commentary, media, or material they publish on social media platforms.

Protection of Sensitive Information: Strictly prohibits sharing any non-public, confidential information or hints on social media, including team strategies, tactical plans, non-public selection deliberations, and financial data.
Personal Data Protection: Prohibits releasing personal contact details, medical records, passport details, or private information of HKCWA personnel, athletes, or officials.

Transparency & Disclosure: Requires caution when endorsing commercial products or services; individuals must fully disclose any financial or personal interests involved.
Conflict of Interest: Ensures that no commercial product or service endorsement incurs a conflict of interest with HKCWA policies, official sponsorship commitments, or organizational values.

Non-compliance with social media guidelines constitutes a breach of the Code of Conduct and will be subject to formal investigation and disciplinary action.
Sanctions vary based on severity, ranging from verbal/written warnings and mandatory ethics education to suspension of squad status, revocation of credentials, membership termination, or dismissal.
